Happy Halloween.

La giornata, almeno qui a Roma è perfetta, per Halloween, s’intende. Un tetro cielo, una gelida aria tagliente, il rumore sgocciolante della pioggia. Questa mattina vi lascio tre “cartoline” horror dal mio Halloween 2011. 
Halloween, oltre al suo aspetto horror, è l’unica festività ad avere un’origine misteriosa e druidica, i celti lo festeggiavano per placare gli spiriti dei defunti. In più c’è la tradizionale leggenda che accompagna la zucca, simbolo di Halloween, la leggenda di  Jack O’ Lantern. Jack, un ubriacone irlandese, promise al diavolo la sua anima in cambio di un’ultima bevuta, il diavolo si trasformò in  una moneta e Jack la ripose in una tasca, accanto ad una croce, impedendo al diavolo di cambiare forma. Con un accordo Jack lasciò libero il diavolo, che promise di lasciare in pace l’uomo. Ma, alla sua morte, Jack non fu accettato in Paradiso, e il diavolo mantenendo la sua promessa lo lasciò vagare con un tizzone, rinnegandogli l’ingresso all’inferno. Da allora nacque la leggenda di Jack e la sua lanterna intagliata famosa ancora oggi.
