Questa mattina nella sezione “Fashion&Films” ho scelto di parlare di The Dutchess, ambientato nella seconda metà del 1700.
Per quanto riguarda il guardaroba maschile (fig.7), l’uomo indossa camicia, panciotto, giacca e pantaloni. La camicia solitamente bianca, con polsini ampi è sempre visibile dalla giacca. La giacca è aderente e poco svasata, con ampi paramano. La giacca ha una lunga fila di bottoni, ma non viene mai abbottonata, per lasciar vedere il panciotto, sempre molto ricamato (fig.7).
I pantaloni invece sono aderenti e lunghi fino al ginocchio, ai piedi scarpe con fibbia o fiocco. Nel film l’abbigliamento maschile è perfettamente rispettato.Gli uomini, inoltre indossano parrucche incipriate, raccolte dietro.
Per quanto riguarda l’abbigliamento femminile ci sarebbe troppo da dire, forse anche perché il settecento è il secolo che preferisco!
Al di sotto degli abiti si indossa un rigido corpetto. La gonna all’inizio del secolo con i “paniers” è gonfia sui fianchi e piatta avanti e dietro, fino alla metà del secolo in cui le gonne diventano molto ampie.
Le scollature sono profonde e quadrate e spesso sono coperte dal “fichu” un fazzoletto annodato sulla scollatura. Nel settecento gli abiti sono ricchi di decorazioni, merletti, nastri, fiocchi e ricami.
Le acconciature delle donne in questo secolo possono essere molto stravaganti, vengono utilizzati “poufs” di crine di cavallo per dare volume in altezza alle acconciature, molto utilizzati anche i cappelli.

This morning I decide to post in “Fashion&Films” section, The Dutchess photos, setting in the 1700.
In a men’s wardrobe there was shirt, vest and jacket. The shirt was always white, with big cuffs that you can see from the jacket.. The jacket was slightly flared also with big cuffs. There were a lot of buttons but the jacket was never buttoned because you had to see the decorated vest.
The pant were long to the knee, and on their feets they were shoes with bukles or ribbon. In the film the men’s clothes are truly well used. The men also wore powdered wigs.
Women wardrobe was really rich, I really love clothes of this century!
Under the dress they used a corset. The skirt was made puffy with “paniers”. The cleavage was deep and often there was a “fichu” a hanky to hide. In the 18 th century the dresses were riched of decorations, lace, tapes and bows. Women’s hairstyle were always in a strange way, they were always really hight and they used a “poufs” to make the hairstyle really big.
